Creating & Adding Labels
This feature allows users to add a label to an object; meaning it is associated with that object. It is available on all fixed icons, scaled objects & areas, but it is not available on lines.
Labels offer a way to categorize and organise different objects within the platform. They also help with visual clarity as they can be colour coded providing a visual representation of different categories, tasks, or statuses.
How it works:
Three Ways to add a label:
-
Double clicking on an object
-
Via the right click contextual menu "Add/Delete label"

-
Clicking on the object you want to add a label to and then using the shortcut "L"
Deleting a label: Simply selecting in the contextual menu OR by using the shortcut "L"
Positioning: Placing a label automatically positions it in the centre of the object- This cannot be customised.
Copy/paste- This will copy and paste both the object and label; when an object is pasted with a label, the label name will be the same as original.
Customisation: Labels will have their own panel where colour of the label and text, opacity, font size, & label name can be customised. (this is the same styling options as we have in the properties panel) The panel is visible only when in editable state. (see image below)

Show/hide all labels:
This can be done in a few ways:- Via right clicking anywhere on the map and pressing "hide/show labels"
- Via the shortcut "shift + L"

If I wanted to hide all labels for my export:
- Click export and export site plan
- Toggle on ‘hide all labels’

*If labels are only toggled off here, when switching back map view, it will revert to original map state- meaning labels will still show on in map view.
CSV export: Labels are visible and can be seen under the label name column;
