Map Not Loading in OnePlan

This article offers steps to take if you are struggling to load the map inside of OnePlan 

If you’re experiencing issues with the map not displaying (e.g. seeing a blank or grey map) when opening a project in OnePlan, follow the steps below to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Step 1: Verify You’re Using Google Chrome

OnePlan Studio is optimised for use with Google Chrome. Ensure:

  • You’re using the latest version of Chrome.

  • You’re not using an alternative browser (e.g. Safari, Firefox, Edge).

Step 2: Check WebGL Compatibility

OnePlan uses WebGL to render maps, and issues with it may cause maps to appear grey or fail to load. Follow the steps below to verify WebGL support in your browser:

  1. Go to https://webglreport.com in the same browser you’re using for OnePlan.

  2. Ensure that both tabs: WebGL1 and WebGL2 display green banners at the top of the page, indicating that WebGL is supported.

  3. Then go to this Mapbox examples page.

  4. Click into any example and check whether the map renders correctly.

If either of these steps fails, your browser or device may not fully support WebGL. We recommend updating Chrome, your graphics driver, or even your operating system if needed. (Updating your OS or driver is more advanced and should be done with care.)

Step 3: Reset Chrome Window Placement

If Chrome was previously used on a second monitor that’s now disconnected, it may cause rendering issues. To resolve:

  1. Close all Chrome windows.

  2. Open a new Chrome window on your main screen.

  3. Sign back into OnePlan Studio and reload your project.

Step 4: Clear Cache and Cookies

Browser cache can sometimes interfere with map loading. To clear your cache:

  1. Click the three-dot menu in Chrome.

  2. Navigate to Settings > Privacy and security > Clear browsing data.

  3. Select Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files, then click Clear data.

  4. Close and reopen Chrome, then try accessing your project again.

Step 5: Try a Different Device or Chrome Profile

Still having trouble? Try the following:

  • Open OnePlan Studio in a different Chrome user profile.

  • Log in from a different computer to test if the issue is local to your device.

Additional Tips

  • Disable hardware acceleration in Chrome:

    Go to chrome://settings/system and toggle Use hardware acceleration when available off. Restart Chrome afterward.

  • Disable any browser extensions that may interfere with content loading.
